Malwarebytes 4.0 (formerly Malwarebytes Anti-Malware) offers anti-malware and anti-rootkit in one solution. The Premium version adds to this with real-time protection, anti-exploit, anti-ransomware, and protection from malicious websites. The product has been designed to provide comprehensive protection to the extent that it will replace your traditional anti-virus. Now able to scan your computer up to four times faster than previous versions.

While Malwarebytes 4.0 can replace your traditional anti-virus, you can still run it alongside your current anti-virus solution. Malwarebytes 4.0 will not run on Windows XP and Vista, Malwarebytes 3.x will still work for the foreseeable future. If you wish to use the anti-ransomware technology you must be on Windows 7 or higher. I strongly recommended you upgrade to Windows 10 if you’re already on Windows 7 or 8.1. You’ll get better security and be able to keep using Malwarebytes newest releases!

Much like previous versions of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, this version will continue to give you top of the line protection. Whether you use the free solution or purchase a license for the Premium version, the protection you get from Malwarebytes cannot be beat. If you had a license to the previous versions, your price will be grandfathered in. Additionally, if you had a lifetime license, your lifetime license will still be honored for Malwarebytes 3. However, lifetime licenses are no longer available.
